rEADING rOOM AT sALDEAN lIDO

A new chapter for Reading Room has arrived on the Sussex coast.

Nestled within the iconic Saltdean Lido, Reading Room at Saltdean Lido brings the spirit of Reading Room to one of the most remarkable buildings in the country. Set within the beautifully restored Grade II* listed Art Deco landmark, the restaurant sits at the heart of a destination that combines food, swimming, wellness, community and heritage in a way few places can.

While Reading Room at Black Rock looks out across Brighton's seafront, its new sister restaurant offers something entirely different. Here, sweeping terraces overlook the famous heated outdoor pool, elegant Art Deco architecture surrounds every corner, and a day out can effortlessly stretch from breakfast to swimming, lunch to sunset drinks.

The opening marks an exciting partnership between Reading Room and Saltdean Lido, helping to breathe new life into one of Sussex's most treasured landmarks. First opened in 1938 and lovingly restored through years of community effort, the Lido has become a destination once again, welcoming visitors from across the region to experience its unique blend of history, leisure and coastal escapism.

At Reading Room at Saltdean Lido, guests will find the same commitment to warm hospitality, thoughtful food and memorable experiences that have made Reading Room a Brighton favourite.  So you're stopping by after a swim, gathering with friends on the terrace, celebrating a special occasion or simply spending a day exploring the coast, it's a place designed for lingering a little longer.

Together, the two venues offer different experiences united by the same philosophy: great food, welcoming spaces and a sense of occasion, whether you're dining beside the sea at Black Rock or beneath the curves of one of Britain's most celebrated Art Deco landmarks.
