We are delighted to welcome Henry Butler of Butlers Wine Cellar to Reading Room for a special wine dinner, created in collaboration with our chefs Kevin Gonçalves and Vincenzo Fuccilli.
Butlers Wine Cellar is Brighton’s oldest independent wine merchant and a much loved part of the city’s food and drink scene. Known for exceptional wines and lively tastings, Henry and Cassie Butler have built a loyal following among wine lovers across the city.
Henry is a natural host with an infectious enthusiasm for wine. His evenings are relaxed and engaging, opening wonderful bottles while sharing the stories behind the vineyards and producers.
For this dinner Henry will be joined by Kevin Gonçalves, Head Chef at Reading Room, whose cooking blends refined technique with bold flavour, drawing on his Portuguese roots and a deep respect for seasonal ingredients.
Alongside him is Vincenzo, our Sous Chef from Barletta in Puglia. His career has taken him through Michelin-starred kitchens in Italy, France and Denmark, including six formative years in Copenhagen. His cooking reflects Mediterranean roots, French technique and Japanese influence.
For the evening Henry will pour a selection of Italian and Portuguese wines, each carefully chosen to pair with the dishes Kevin and Vincenzo have created.
Together they will present a six course menu, each dish paired with a perfectly matched wine selected by Henry.
Expect generous plates, wonderful wines and a lively evening around the table.
